Return to Play Update:
Posted May 22, 2020

As you are all probably aware, on Thursday May 21st, Governor Mike DeWine released the Responsible RestartOhio guidelines specific to Skills Training for All Sports. We are excited about this opportunity but want to stress to everyone the importance of complying with Responsible Restart guidelines. While other states around us may be reopening, or returning to play before Ohio, it is important we do our part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 to other areas of the country.

To assist our members, Ohio South has created a Return to Activity page on our website. This includes a collaborative document between Ohio South and Ohio North on Mandates and Best Practices, USYS Best Practices, and examples of fellow State Association guidelines on Return to Activity. We hope this will assist our members as they move forward. We also anticipate the addition of further resources as we move forward to normalcy.

For those organizations that are looking to take advantage of the Skills Training for All Sports opportunity for the upcoming tryout process, please note that there are requirements that every soccer club/organization will need to have in place. These include:

Having each parent/guardian sign the OSYSA Infectious Disease Waiver form. This is a requirement by our Insurance provider.
Ensuring compliance with the newly released Skills Training for All Sports protocols.

Having a written set of protocols on how the organization will ensure compliance with the Responsible Restart Ohio Guidelines.
As previously stated, it is important that as Ohioans we continue to do our part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19. Organizations can move forward with tryouts/training opportunities if they can meet state requirements. However, it is important that as soccer organization/parents/players that you feel comfortable with the new guidelines. If clubs/soccer organizations do not feel they can achieve the required level of compliance, then it is important that you do not proceed…and please know that you should feel comfortable in making the decision to not proceed. You are making a conscious effort to do your part in protecting the health and safety of our youth. As we have heard many times, “Just because we can, does not mean we should."

CO-VID 19 update
Posted Mar 13, 2020

NWOYSL Membership,

Last night, 4/16, we recieved noticed from Ohio North that all soccer activities have been suspended through June1st, 2020. With that information, our board has decided that we will not attempt to begin league play on June 1st.

There will NOT be a Spring 2020 Season this year.

With that being said, we will be issuing refunds: 7v7,9v9,11v11 teams will be issued a $100.00 refund; 4v4 teams will be refunded $60.00. Our office will be working on getting these refunds out to you in the coming weeks.

Fall 2020 Season
Posted Apr 2, 2020

Beginning in the Fall 2020 season, NWOYSL will become a member of Ohio South Youth Soccer Assocaition instead of Ohio North Youth Soccer Assocation. We are excited about the many added benefits our membership will receive. We will begin detailing this information to you in the coming weeks. We will work through the changes through Ohio South so the transition is as easy as possible for all of our member clubs. One thing that we need to mention, travel for your teams will be no different than it is now. Your teams will NOT be traveling to Dayton, Cincinnati, or Columbus. Our league will continue as you see it now, in our geographical area of Northwest Ohio.

We are very excited about our move and what is about to come.

Player & Admin ADDS:

Just a quick reminder that the last day to add players or staff to your rosters before late fees go into effect is March 22nd.

To make ANY changes to your ROSTER, you must email the league office and request the roster to be approved before additional players can be added to your game day rosters. You can add the player with the roster being locked - however they will not appear on your game day roster until you notify me. Double check your game day rosters for your new players!
